Learning to Paint

Learning to Paint
Holding a paintbrush for the first time, I felt nervous—what if I messed up? But my teacher smiled and said, “Art is about trying, not perfection.” I started with simple strokes: a blue sky, green grass. At first, my trees looked lopsided, my flowers blob-like. But I kept practicing, mixing colors to get just the right shade of pink for a rose, blending blue and white for clouds. Slowly, my paintings improved. Now, I love losing myself in a canvas, the way colors merge and shapes take form. Painting taught me patience, to see beauty in imperfection, and that creating something—even messy, even flawed—fills the heart with pride and joy.
